The practice of sofa yoga, or “Couch Yoga“, is a constantly increasing trend and we could only investigate the phenomenon, laying the foundations to help educate on wellness, also through interior design.
The simple idea is the one that brings our projects and our products to their function of promoters a healthy and correct use of places designed for comfort, such as the sofa.
Since the pandemic, domestic actions have clearly transformed our lives.
Obviously, the constant and necessary interconnection between physical and virtual is also an accomplice.
In this sometimes apocalyptic and sometimes chameleonic scenario, what have always been common practices for many people (such as yoga from home) have added ingredients to their status as solitary passion, being shared with a multitude of other users.
This instinctive need stimulated the creativity of users who, at the cost of being followed, began to spectacularize their daily lives which in the meantime had changed its essence like never before the lockdown.
In the middle of this stormy sea, a modus vivendi was born which, for some, makes the sofa the most comfortable mat for stretching muscles, relaxing and relieving stress.
We obviously examined with Yoga experts how to fully enjoy these benefits, openly asking how important the type of sofa was.
The answer found them, first of all, unprepared… After all, who could blame them, who had ever been asked which sofa you prefer to practice the seated pigeon position?
But as always happens, those who know they don’t know, have a curious mind and a good dose of determination, attitudes which put them in the street of go on learning. And it was like that.
In fact, the experiment conducted on our sofas decreed that, for each different type of yoga, we have an ideal model.
Here’s the (non) top secret list!
BROWNIE MODEL – Hatha Yoga
QUEEN BEE MODEL – Iyengar Yoga
ORCHESTRA MODEL – Ashtanga Yoga
FIL ROUGE MODEL – Kundalini Yoga
Because every unhappy person sits in their own way and every happy person sits well… And often, on a GARAVINI sofa.
